Lifting Letters
Sending letters to people going through tough times

Support for friends and family used to involve moments of connection over tea and crumpets, in cafes and on couches, and with warm embracement, but this isn't always possible and might not be possible for a while.

We're all worried about people going through tough times or people who might be isolating or feeling lonely. Perfect Strangers has always been a project of old-fashioned gestures, and we've always believed that receiving something friendly in the post can work wonders.

We'd like to try sending lifting letters to these people. If you'd like to write some letters to brighten someone's day, please do help out. The human connection is the important thing, so they don't have to be long, they don't have to be meaningful, and you don't have to worry about finding the perfect thing to say, and there's also no expectation of a reply.

You'll be able to sign up alongside our usual swap, choosing to do one or the other or both. This will hopefully happen in the next day or two. Bear with us as we're trying to get everything sorted out.

Sign up on the home page (selecting lifting letters if you just want to send letters, or parcel swap to do both).

If you'd like to suggest a recipient of these lifting letters, you can enter their details below. This person can be you. If it's not you, you'll need to get their consent to share their details of course. See our legal and technical notes below. Alternatively, you can put down our address (Second Floor, 116 High Holborn, WC1V 6RD), and then send us an addressed and stamped envelope for the final recipient.
